FYG has just returned from a fact finding visit to the lovely Cornish town of Lostwithiel.
Lostwithiel as a stannary town was once one of the most important in Cornwall. Today’s its importance is much reduced but it is a lovely welcoming and historic place to visit.
Fred Yates lived in Lostwithiel at a little cottage, No 15 The Moors just a stone’s throw from the river. Close by is Lostwithiel station and the rail bridge that carries main line trains heading down to Penzance.
Fred Yates painted many scenes in and around Lostwithiel – do check the main menu to see the updated Lostwithiel page.
