A small collection of oil paintings by Fred Yates went under the hammer at Charterhouse auction of pictures, books and maps on Thurs 27th July.
Director Richard Bromell said: “The paintings had quite an interesting provenance, as the owner bought Fred Yates’s cottage in Fowey back in the early 1980’s”.
Fred’s own distinctive painting style, often with thick paint squeezed straight from the tube in vibrant colours, ensures his artwork continues to be admired by collectors and museums.
